About Breaking the Cycle of Abuse
My Story
I am an anonymous 26-year-old woman on a mission to share my story and create a safe space for fellow cycle breakers. I am one of many children of narcissistic parents. This can be an isolating role, but it doesn’t always have to be that way. By creating this blog, my goal is to help others feel seen, heard, and validated in this space.
As a child of a parent with narcissistic personality disorder, I wanted to create a place for fellow cycle breakers – for those who choose to swim upstream and escape generational trauma, addiction, and dysfunction in order to live a more fulfilling life. The journey is lonely, and the grief is everpresent, but you are not alone.
As I write, I heal. I feel I have a lot to share and a lot left to learn, and I invite fellow cycle breakers into this process with me. I remain anonymous for fear of retaliation, but I’ve been through too much not to help others by sharing my story.
